AFROMASSIVE is the hottest new experimental fury of afrobeat/funk-inspired and electronically fueled grooves this side of the Mississippi. Founded in Humboldt County, and based in the Bay Area, It’s a collective of like-minded musicians looking to cultivate something uniquely different in our current diverse music scene. AFROMASSIVE features members of Bay-Area afrobeat cohorts, ALBINO! (albinoband.com), and NorCal electro- funk outfit, MooGot2 (www.moogot2.com), as well as various other Northern California music communities.. Inspired by today’s yearning for electronic music, heavy bass, and experimental sounds, while deeply rooted in funk, and 70′s soul and jazz, AFROMASSIVE uses their knowledge of Afro-Cuban and West African rhythm to put their unique, up-to-date spin on the Afrobeat music made famous by Fela Kuti. They are on a mission to turn on your brain and make you GET DOWN! After the successful release of their first EP, “Gridlock” in 2009 (available here: www.cdbaby.com/afromassive), They are releasing a Live Compilation this February and recording there next coming studio Album @ Prairie Sun Studios, to be released in Spring. After years of packed houses in Humboldt County, AFROMASSIVE has taken the unique driving sound to audiences all over California, opening for such bands Lettuce and Toubab Krewe, and tearing up the late night vibes at such festivals as The Gaia Festival, etc. The crowd reactions are increasing elated and ecstatic for this ensemble’s powerful music, so don’t miss your chance to experience the in-your-face sound of AFROMASSIVE!

“Colorado-bred, High-Octane Rocky Mountain DanceGrass”

Self-described as “High-Octane Rocky Mountain DanceGrass”, WhiteWater Ramble uses a simple recipe to craft it’s sound – bluegrass instrumentation, add drums, and a boundary-less approach to grassing-up everything from disco house grooves to roots and Americana. The Colorado-bred quintet combines the elements of Mandolin, Fiddle, Acoustic Guitar, Upright Bass, Drums and Vocals to explore the musical boundaries of multiple genres to fuel their own mixture of original music and innovative cover song interpretations. Whether playing an intimate encore, acoustic and unplugged in the crowd, or surfing on top of the upright bass, WhiteWater Ramble delivers a powerful and memorable live performance.

“WWR have their feet planted in more than one world. More than two if you count such things and sometimes all at the same time! No matter which world you prefer; bluegrass, rock, electronica or the myriad combinations, WWR will take you there on a fantastic ride! “
~Tim Carbone – Railroad Earth

“With a list of influences that reaches into every corner of contemporary music, from reggae to blues to country and beyond, WhiteWater Ramble pushes the boundaries of the form way past the edge. It ain’t your grandpappy’s jug-band music anymore, now it’s jam-grass.” ~ The Boulder Daily Camera

“Certainly, playing across genres gives WhiteWater Ramble a much broader appeal and helps to win over those who may not necessarily be fans of bluegrass. “ ~ Vail Daily News

WWR has had the privilege of opening and sharing stages with Railroad Earth, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Dark Star Orchestra, Little Feat, Cornmeal, Papa Mali, The New Mastersounds, The Gourds, The David Grisman Quintet, Jerry Douglas, Lotus, Splitlip Rayfiled, Members of the String Cheese Incident, Particle, Hot Buttered Rum, Drew Emmitt of Leftover Salmon, DJ Logic, The Contribution, The Motet, Josh Clark of Tea Leaf Green, Henry Butler, Vince Herman and Great American Taxi, Peter Rowan, Tony Furtado, Cornmeal, Greensky Bluegrass and more.

“WhiteWater Ramble’s genre-bending, high-energy grooves will send your body and soul rushing down the rapids of infinity!” ~ Steve Molitz – Particle / Phil Lesh & Friends

“Along with the diverse genres, the band also brings an intense energy to the stage.” ~ The Summit Daily News

“This Colorado band sounds more like rock with bluegrass tendencies, I like it when the mandolin player starts rippin’.” ~ Greg Voorhees of Top Hat Promotions.
